Liz will share her insights on how the Florida Keys Council of the Arts supports women artists throughout the Keys, what it takes to succeed as a Keys artist, and how the agency's Art Builds Community grants make the arts more accessible to underserved populations, including working women and their families.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Liz Young has nearly two decades of experience supporting and connecting artists and arts organizations with their audiences. Along with the Keys-wide Board of Directors, Liz leads the Florida Keys Council of the Arts to build community, increase cultural tourism and expand arts programming. Liz and her staff of three work daily to promote the diverse history of the Keys while supporting visual, performing and literary artists in our vibrant arts community.

Parents will enjoy a fun facilitated networking session in the upstairs gallery while the REEF team leads kids in an engaging activity in the Science Discovery Classroom downstairs.

This free event was made possible through an "Art Builds Community" grant awarded by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts to the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) in partnership with Upper Keys BPW. The goal of the grant program is to strengthen community and generate greater cultural equity by fostering relationships between artists, arts organizations and civic organizations in the Florida Keys.
