What is Spark Tank LIVE?

Spark Tank LIVE is a pitch-style competition where women’s innovative ideas catch fire. Designed to spotlight women-owned businesses connected to the Upper Florida Keys, selected finalists will pitch their business ideas live during the Upper Keys BPW EMPOWER YOU event on March 7, 2026 in Key Largo. The winner will receive a cash award, visibility and community support.

Who can apply?

Entrepreneurial women with a business operating in or meaningfully connected to the Upper Florida Keys are eligible to apply. We welcome business ideas (pre-revenue), side hustles, startups and early-stage existing businesses generating less than $150,000 in annual revenue. Our goal is to help you ignite your idea and empower your future — no prior pitch experience is required to apply!

What types of businesses are eligible?

Spark Tank welcomes a wide range of businesses across industries, including product-based, service-based, online, creative and community-focused ventures. Businesses must have a clear connection to the Upper Florida Keys community.

What is the prize?

The Spark Tank winner will receive the $1,500 Catalyst Cash Award, a media promotion package, and increased visibility within the local business community. All qualifying applicants also have the opportunity to receive expert no-cost consulting support from the Florida SBDC to help their businesses grow.

How are finalists selected?

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee based on business viability and progress, clarity of the business concept, growth potential, and overall fit for a live, audience-engaging pitch. Spark Tank will feature three to four finalists.

How is the winner chosen?

The Spark Tank winner is determined by audience vote during the live event. Following the pitches, every attendee at EMPOWER YOU will have the opportunity to vote for the idea that inspired them most. Final determinations are subject to review by the Spark Tank selection committee.

Do I need to attend EMPOWER YOU to participate in Spark Tank?

Finalists must be available and willing to pitch live during the EMPOWER YOU event on March 7, 2026. Finalists are not required to attend other EMPOWER YOU sessions or activities, though it is encouraged.

Do I need to register for EMPOWER YOU or buy a ticket?

No. A ticket is not required to participate in Spark Tank. You only need to buy a ticket if you choose to attend additional EMPOWER YOU sessions, meals, or programming throughout the day.
