2022 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Each October, Upper Keys Business and Professional Women (BPW) celebrates National Business Women’s Week by naming a Woman of the Year and Business of the Year.
Please join us in congratulating Sandbar Books, our Upper Keys BPW Business of the Year, in recognition of exceptional business achievements, leadership in our professional community and support for working women!
This relatively new business is owned by Upper Keys BPW member Becky Washam and has quickly become a destination for book clubs and other community events.
In the words of one of our member-nominators, "Sandbar Books is a wonderful local business and we are thrilled to have them as part of our community."

Amazing mother-daughter owners business that provides a beautiful atmosphere for coffees and meals.

Yes
How did this business demonstrate its commitment to workplace equality?
Both women work very well with their employees and you will see both ladies working hard at their business from service to cleaning. Everyone’s hands are in!
In what way did this business positively impact our community in the last year?
They have opened their location for a BPW event and other organizations. They love working with our community!

Why are you nominating this business?
This business helps women transition in their career in personal life for many years now and I have seen many women in our community benefit from the support of it founder.
Is this a woman-owned business and what is the title of the business’s highest-ranking woman?
Yes it is owned by Jackie Harder
How did this business demonstrate its commitment to workplace equality?
Although Key Dynamics Coaching and Consulting mainly helps women, the testimonials on the website show that the women are international and from different background and ethnicities. Even a few men have benefited from the coaching and consulting service.
In what way did this business positively impact our community in the last year?
Key Dynamics Coaching and Consulting has the skills to support women at a very affordable rate. The first 30 minutes call is complimentary and as an long time Upper Keys BPW member has Jackie been very generous in her support to local women where needed, outside the official coaching environment. She has assisted many women in our community with a quick resume review, text editing or supportive conversation and a listening ear.

Why are you nominating this business?
It's a wonderful new business for our community. With so few local retail shopping alternatives, it's great to be able to pop in and pick out a last minute gift and not have to rely on Amazon.
Is this a woman-owned business and what is the title of the business’s highest-ranking woman?
yes, owner.
How did this business demonstrate its commitment to workplace equality?
From a customer perspective I have only ever seen women working there!
In what way did this business positively impact our community in the last year?
In addition to retail sales, they have offered book clubs and other events for our children. These events are great for our local students to further their reading goals.
